This project is co-financed by the Interreg IVA INTERREG IVA 2 Mers Seas Zeeën Programme.
Waterways are increasingly facing environmental problems, but at the same time clean waterways are the basis for social and economic activities. To be able to meet these challenges, waterways will have to become cleaner. However, traditional dredging methods and dumping of sediment have become a thing of the past.
That is the reason why the Prisma-project, (Promoting Integrated Sediment Management), has been conceived. The project is aiming at development of improved methods for processing, treatment and reuse. The relevance for the 2 Seas Programme is considerable as this problem is primarily scheduled in the estuarial area and because it is in tune with the objectives of this programme. The partnership is divers in nature and comprises: Waterwegen en Zeekanaal (BE, which is the lead partner), Broads Authority (UK), Water Board of Schieland and Krimpenerwaard (NL) and Armines (FR).
